HAPPY WORLD BOOK DAY



To celebrate this magical day we have made a cute bookmarker, a Peppa Pig one.
 



On the other hand today some of you may have already bought a book in English... Congratulations! 
If you didn't have the opportunity today, on Friday you will be able to try it again in our second bookstand.

IT'S SNOWING!!!

What a fun class we had last day! 

Our first activity was to draw an amusing cat.... like Binka, said they quickly.
Look at them.

THE DRAWS
 Aren’t they cute?
We drew them using the shapes we know, like rectangles, triangles, circles, and lines. Some of them were big, and others were little.

SOME SENTENCES WE PRACTICED
TEACHER                                    CHILDREN

- What colour do you want?          - I want blue colour, … please.
- What colour is your cat?             - My cat is blue and red.
- I like your cat very much!           - Thank you.

Right after we saw the funny video Binka on a snowy day.
They all loved it. Binka makes them always laugh.

THE GAME: Finally, we don’t really know how…. It was snowing inside the classroom. Can you imagine it?
At the end we put all the snowflakes again in the blue plastic bag. We've got a lot of fun doing it. Because is our responsibility and we do it while singing the song Clean up:

Help Your Child Relax Before Bedtime

Allow your child to unwind. They generally take some time to relax before they begin to fall asleep.
Before your child's bedtime, keep noise and activity to a minimum and create some comfort rituals for him like reading a book or singing a quiet song. The last thing of this ritual could be this short english song.  They relax and they remember what we don in the class at the same time.

Today we've learned how to give a massage while listening this quiet song, by caressing our friend, their shoulders, their backs, their faces.... It has been a great pleasure!

TEN IN THE BED



Children sit on the chairs in a row and they sing and act out the song. The most fun moment is when they roll over and fall out on the floor one after the other one.
They love this popular song because it's a great song for creative play. They want to sing it over and over again. 
It's also a good introduction to subtraction as children countdown on their fingers. 
The teacher pauses the music, holds up ten fingers, and counts them together with the children. Then she asks “How many fingers?” Next, she points to one of her thumbs and bends it so that now there are only nine fingers showing. She asks, “Now how many fingers?”  After the answer, together, count the remaining fingers.

AN OTHER POSSIBILITY: 
Sing the song while seated and give children 10 objects they can use to count with. These can be small bingo chips, pom-poms, erasers, toys, etc.  After each verse, the kids can remove one object and then recount the items.

We play this fun game with cards that contain pictures of different animals. The tecaher calls off a picture name. Children will place an orange piece on the correct picture. We play multiple rounds and the first student to put oranges pieces at all of their animal draws shouts I'M THE WINNER.

Playing this game will help them match the picture with the sounds of the word.

Other sentences we use during the game:
- WHO HAS GOT THE.... DOLFHIN?
- I'VE GOT THE DOLFIN
- I HAVEN'T GOT THE DOLPHIN.

LION, LION, MAY WE CROSS THE RIVER?

Today we explain you a new game we use in our english time. This activity alows we to practice many vocabulary we already know (clothes, animals, actions...). We have a lot of fun and we use "very difficult" sentences in a unconscious way.

You will need:
An open space
Four markers (cones, beanbags etc)
A gaggle of kids who are familiar with their basic colours
optional: a bunch of coloured fabric flags or scarves

Crocodile (lion, rabbit...) should be played outside in a largish play area.

One player is chosen to be the Crocodile (the lion, the monkey...) who then stands in the centre of the playing field. The other players stand along the start lin.
The players along the start line then start chanting “Crocodile, crocodile, may I cross the river?” and the crocodile replies “Yes you may, yes you may, if you are wearing *insert colour*”.
All the players who have that colour somewhere on their clothing may pass across to the finish line without being tagged.
The rest of the players must then run across to the finish line and avoid being tagged by the Crocodile.
The players who are caught then join the Crocodile in the middle of the field as Crocodile Helpers. Begin the game again, this time with the Crocodile Helpers also tagging players.
This goes on until one player is left who then becomes the Crocodile for the next round.

OTHER POSSIBILITIES:
The crocodile says: "yes you may, yes you may if you cross it jumping, swimming, runing..."

I SEE SOMETHING BLUE.


LANGUAGE FOCUS:  Colours (blue, yellow, red, purple)
                                         "I see something...",  "Find something..."



TODAY:

Today we learned a funny new song: "I see something blue"
First we looked around the classroom looking for colours, after that we made different coloured sculptures locating the colours in a box with construction pieces. And finally we run around the room to pick up all the spread pieces.

After singing the song a few times, we played the "I See Something..." game outside using the coloured wall. We found gray elephants, brow lions, pink flowers and green snakes. It was really funny.

VERY IMPORTANT: 
If you want to play this game with us you must put your magic glasses on.

OTHER POSISIBILITIES:
Have the children gather around you. Look around the room and then say, "I see something blue/red/yellow/etc. The students then try to guess which object you "see". They can point at the objects, or name them if they know the word. This is a great game for introducing new vocabulary. For example, if a student points to a blue pencil, the teacher can say, "The blue pencil? No, not the pencil. " After each guess, the teacher can introduce the word for the item the student is pointing to. After playing this game a couple of times, encourage the students to identify the objects by name, and then let the students take the lead and say, "I see something..."

GAME: COLOUR and SING!

The children have to colour all the paper while they listen and sing the songs we have already learned in class.
Everybody colour with the same colour at the same time. When the music stops they have to stop colouring, to put the colours in the case, to put the arms up and to wait that the teacher asks to a children what colour he or she likes.
Example:
- Teacher:             Miquel, what colour do you like?
- Miquel:             I like blue.
- Teacher:            Ok. When the music begins you have to colour your paper in blue. One, two, three, colour!!
The children colour the paper in blue wile they sing the songs they hear.
- Teacher:            STOP. Stop colouring, the music has stopped. Colours in the case and hands up! Carla, what colour do you like?
- Carla:           I like yellow.
- Teacher:           Ok. When the music begins you have to colour your paper in yellow. One, two, three, colour!!

Etc...

A VERY SPECIAL DAY

Pares, mares, iaies i ties epseràven amb delit veure els menuts i menudes de 4 anys en acció.
Al mateix tempss llegien les cançons que després hauríen de cantar amb nosaltres. I val a dir que ho féren amb ganes.
Mentre esperàvem els últims convidats comentàrem un poc quines són les condicions afavoridores de del creixement intel·lectual: la implicació de les famílies encara que siga només pel convenciment de la necessitat d'oferir als fills i filles un gran ventall de situacions d'aprenentatge, la motivació, l'exposició al coneixement en diversos formats i, pel què fa a les llengües estrangeres, l'emoció, l'interès, la curiositat, la sensibilització, la participació, la necessitat d'expressió....
Incidírem en això de l'emoció: una llengua és comunicació, és experiència i és vivència. I tota vivència té una càrrega considerable d'emoció. En sentírem prou d'emoció, l'últim dijous de trimestre a l'aprenanglés de 4 anys! Tanta que en alguns moments aquella classe tan especial pareixia l'hora de pati... tanta espontaneïtat, tanta energia a estones un poc descontrolada, tantes ganes de ser el màxim protagonista... Però això a mi, com a part responsable de l'experiència, em sembla una conseqüència directa de com nosaltres vivim les classes, alumnes i mestra plegats, amb emoció! Ja ho anireu veient amb el temps com n'és de positiva aquesta actitud de fons.

AVUI TINDREM UNS CONVIDATS MOLT ESPECIALS


 La d'avui és una experiència nova. 
Hem condivat els pares i les mares dels alumnes de 4 anys per a fer una classe conjunta. 
Per a això hem preparat amb molta emoció un xicotet teatre-musical, tota una primícia.
El conte és "THE 7 LITTLE GOATS AND THE WOLF" i les cançons.... les que us hem enllaçat en l'entrada d'ahir.
Ja us contarem l'experiència. Les expectatives són altes.
